FOOD 4 LESS

We've developed a protoype Hispanic Market for Food 4 Less in southern California. The overall approach was to make the store feel fresh, exciting, colorful, and energetic without being cliche, or aprrearing too ethnic. Pattern plays a prominent role throughout, with super size wall graphics, repeated sunbursts, and dimensional surfaces. The design is focused on second generation Hispanic customers, or those that are bilingual and somewhat acculturated, but the store is also intended to be equally comfortable for Hispanic and Anglo customers.

Size: 55,000 square foot grocery store.

Opening: May, 2005.

Location: Coachella, CA.
